about

"I commenced the album re-recording process with a cover of Heart Of The World by Big Country, mainly to see if my voice still worked. I'd endured a heavy three-week cold which wiped away my ability to sing in falsetto and left me with a much lower and limited vocal range.

The initial guide vocals for this track were nothing short of horrendous. I had very little vocal ability left. It took several months to rebuild my range and thankfully I was able to sing this track without sounding like a drunken man shouting into a bucket. I'm glad, because I've always liked this song and it was written about someone special to me."

lyrics

THROW ME A LINE

Why don't you sing that song for me?
The one we sang when they set the people free
We we're laughing all the way to the bank
But the bank was closed
So we bought a cheap bottle of wine
So the story goes to bed

I'd love to take you home
But the ceiling came down so we've got no place to go
Yeah, once in a while does you good to go without
'Cos it all works out just fine in the end
No doubt about it

You said you want to know me
I guessed you'd want to show me
Why don't you throw me a line?
Why don't you throw me a line?

Why don't you wear that dress for me?
The one you bought back in 1993
We were laughing all the way to the end
When the credits ran
So we headed off into the night
When the lights went down
Too bad

You said you want to know me
I guessed you'd want to show me
Why don't you use that time?
Go ahead and make it mine
Don't make it wrong to know me
Go ahead if you want to show me
Why don't you throw me a line?

Why don't you throw me a line?
Go ahead and throw me a line
Why don't you throw me?

I'd love you here with me
But the waters ran under the bridge
And out to sea
So if you see me smile
It did me good to go without
'Cos it all worked out just fine in the end
No doubt about it

You said you want to know me
I hoped you'd want to show me
Why don't you use that time?
Go ahead and make it mine
It's not wrong to know me
Go ahead if you want to show me
Why don't you throw me a line?

Why don't you throw me a line?
Go ahead and throw me
Why don't you throw me a line?
Go ahead and throw me a line

Go ahead and throw me a line
Go ahead and throw me a line
